When in Bozeman, stop here for really good food and great beer. What a nice find on my travels. There is ample seating around the long rectangular bar with plenty more at tables high/low. The place was quite busy for a Thursday evening and the thunderstorm and pouring rain didn't stop the arrival of patrons. As usual I found a great spot at the bar where I could people watch and get a great view inside. The tap selection was really good with a lot of local brews prominently featured. I really like dark beers and was interested in trying the Snowblind White Stout from Missoula. All those great characteristics of solid stout, without feeling heavy. The menu was equally interesting with a number of very tasty looking specials. I went for the Montana Meatloaf - a mixture of bison, beef, and pork wrapped in bacon on a bed of mashed potatoes, topped with a caramelized onion gravy, and accompanied by grilled green beans and carrots. I paired it with the Knotty Lotty Latte Stout out of Livingston. I was only in town for 2 nights working, but will remember this place if I am back in the area.
We had dinner at Montana Ale Works. It's a large place, a little more upscale than most brew pubs. The menu is creative. I had a ramen "salad" with cold ramen noodles, a little lettuce, and cooked broccoli crowns, julienned carrots, etc., and topped with fried chicken strips. (Fried tofu was also an option.) This was all tossed with a spicy vinaigrette. A very creative and tasty meal. Spouse had fish tacos which he reports were "only so-so". We also had an excellent hard cider and a huckleberry mojito which was good but not great. We had a super friendly and attentive server and our meals came much quicker than expected. All in all, a pleasant place.
Montana Ale works came recommended by a local I had ran into while shopping on Main Street. The restaurant was very cute and quite large inside! Our server was great, answered all our menu questions and even gave us some great recommendations on sights we should visit in the area. The food was good, the kids meals were a bit small for my kids but they are also getting on the older side of ordering on the kids menu.
Friends who live locally suggested this place. It does get busy and is recommended to call ahead of time. Does have a decent amount of seating but was very busy. The lights above our table kept flickering which made it seem like they were dimming the lights and then turning them back on. The food was amazing! There were no complaints from anyone in our group. They also had some unique drinks I haven't seen anywhere else such as the spicy pickle martini.
We were in Bozeman on a Friday night and trying to find somewhere easy to get a table for 5. Montana Ale Works allows you to get on the waitlist ahead, which was super convenient. We decided to embrace the local fare and opted for the Bison Potstickers, Montana Meatloaf, and Elk Burger. Everything was incredible. We especially loved the tater tots with the burger, which were more like potato croquettes. Very fun side. The tomato jam on the burger is really good. They have a great cocktail menu. You can order flights of beer, which my husband opted for. They have a good size parking lot as well. Our server was awesome. Definitely recommend this spot!
Everything was great (especially the fries) and The Crack Pie was truly Amazing! Do not consider any other dessert!
Oh, this place is great. We stopped by on our way back home because I really wanted a way to try bison and elk meat. My partner and I were blown away by the options - there were burgers, sandwiches, and more! Bonus: they were also showing the Olympics :) We ended up splitting a bison steak and an elk burger. Both of these items were really flavorful and good, I had a cool experience tasting the difference between the meats and the complementary sides (fries, veggies, mashed potatoes) did not take away from the main part. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone stopping by the area.
Bonus for easy parking! Also for the misters on the patio on hot days. Food is elevated above the usual brew pub fare. Good beer selection. If I lived here, I'd be here a lot.
Tưo thumbs up from me on a fun and delicious dining experience. Gabriella was a great cultural host and an efficient server. She recommended us 2 huckleberry cocktails, muel and mojito, the locally brewed huckleberry ale and another local lager with lower yeast but still tasty. We started with the Bison Potstickers, then each had one of their 4 signature entrees, then shared them. They were all excellent: Rainbow Trout, the Duck, the Pork Chop (with yummy cornbrea and of course, the New,York Bison Steak. Although I wished to have more sauce on the Bison Steak, that's just me, overall the meal was a great start of our visit to Bozeman and Yellowstones. No rooms were left for desserts. On our way out, Gabriella let us know about the Main Street and the 100th Rodeo Roundup in Livingston. We went to the Rodeo and received 4 free tickets from the hospitality of the Montaneers. Thanks, Gabriella.
Stopped here with my brother and fiancé during a little pub crawl in downtown Bozeman, and wish we had more time to stay and check out the full menu. We managed to pop in right when they opened around 4pm, which was great because it became pretty busy pretty quickly. I ordered a flight of 3 beers including: a rotating sour beer, the Huckleberry Cream Ale (huckleberry is the state fruit), and Hazy Blues IPA. We also ordered the Bison Potstickers, and the Fried Pickles with kimchi dipping sauce - the cook and flavor on the pot-stickers and pickles were fantastic! I'm not sure I could taste the kimchi flavor in the sauce, but it was delicious and had a bit of kick of spice nonetheless. They also have billiards available, and indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside due to the rain. I will definitely back during my next visit to Montana.
